In 2016 HNDP partnered with the Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory to present the program “Make Games”. Over three sessions in 8 week courses students as young as 7 learned how to produce their first video game using professional development software Unity3d.
Using the plugin Fungus (www.fungusgames) students focused on hidden object games and point and click adventures. Fungus was a great tool for getting students acclimated with Unity3d, learning the basics of game design, and stop frame animation.
In November of 2016 our partnership was featured in the Boyle Heights Beat highlighting our make games program at the Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory: http://www.boyleheightsbeat.com/boyle-heights-arts-conservatory-builds-confidence-in-area-kids-15868
